The Department of Meteorology says that today (19) there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northe provinces and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts.

The department announced that there may be some rain in the North Central Province and Kurunegala District.

Also in Uva Province and Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills, in the North-Central Province and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee, the strong winds around 40-45kmh.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
