The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be several periods of rain in the Northe and Easte Provinces, while few rains will occur in the North-Central Province.

A few places in Sabaragamuwa province and Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts may experience rain or thundershowers after 2.00 pm.

Occasional gusts of wind in the easte slopes of the Central Hills and 30-40 kmh strong winds are possible.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
