The Colombo Magistrate's Court has ordered the release of former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who is remanded in custody on suspicion of corruption.
Accordingly, it is reported that the suspect has been ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two sureties of Rs. 2 million each.
It has also been ordered that he be banned from traveling abroad.
It is reported that Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama issued this order after considering the arguments presented by the Bribery Commission officials and the suspect's lawyers.
