The Criminal Investigation Department will summon former President Ranil Wickremesinghe next Friday.

This is in connection with the investigation into a private foreign trip allegedly made using gove ment funds.

The trip took place on September 22 and 23, 2023, and 10 people participated in the trip with former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
