The results of the 2024 Population and Housing Census have been released.

Accordingly, it is reported that the population of Sri Lanka was recorded as 21,763,170 in that census.

This year's population has shown an increase of 1,403,731 compared to the total population recorded in the 2012 Population and Housing Census.

The Department of Census and Statistics stated that the largest number of people in Sri Lanka resides in the Weste Province.

That is 28.1% of the total population.
