The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that the sky is expected to remain heavy with clouds in many parts of the island.

The announcement also states that there will be occasional rains in the Northe , North-Central, Easte , Southe , Central and Uva provinces.

In other areas after around 1.00 PM there will be scattered rain or thundershowers.

There may be some rains in the mo ing in the North-West Province.

Some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South, North-West and Easte provinces may experience heavy rains of around 100.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
