The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rain or thundershowers in Easte and Uva Provinces and in Hambantota District.

It also states that there will be several rainy seasons in the North, North-Central provinces and Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Some places in Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts may experience heavy rains of about 75 mm.

After 2.00 pm in the rest of the island, scattered showers or thunderstorms are possible.
