A senior EU official is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (28).
The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism stated that the official team is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to review Sri Lanka’s progress in implementing 27 international agreements on the EU’s GSP+ tax concession, or Generalized System of Preferences.
The senior EU official team is scheduled to remain in the country until May 7th.
They are scheduled to hold discussions with politicians, government officials, civil society, and trade unions.
The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism stated that the European Union is the second-largest export destination for Sri Lanka, with exports of US$ 3 billion in 2024.
