The Department of Meteorology says that there will be rain from time to time in Easte and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Due to this, several rainy seasons may occur in Anuradhapura, Mullaitivu and Hambantota districts.

In addition, in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kandy districts, the department said that there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms after around 2.00 pm.

Also in Central, Uva and North-West Provinces and in Hambantota District, the winds are blowing from time to time per 40 kmh.

The department requested the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
