The Department of Meteorology has issued a severe lightning wa ing for several provinces in the island.

The statement states that there is a risk of severe lightning with thundershowers in some areas of the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Central, Southe , Uva, Northweste and Easte provinces and the Mannar district after 2.00 pm.
