The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to further ease its monetary policy stance.
Accordingly, the Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to reduce the ove ight policy rate by 25 basis points to 7.75% at its meeting held yesterday (21).
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka stated that the Monetary Policy Board reached this decision after carefully considering the current and expected domestic and global macroeconomic trends.
This decision is reported to have been taken with the aim of ensuring that inflation gradually reaches the target of 5% in the medium term and supporting the economy to reach its maximum capacity level.
