Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has issued a press statement today (26).

This is regarding the imposition of sanctions by Britain against former Sri Lankan Armed Forces Commanders.

The statement further states that he expects the current gove ment to stand up directly against the pressures exerted by foreign gove ments and organizations targeting armed forces officers who have performed their duties to ensure Sri Lanka's national security.
