With the rainy weather prevailing across the island, the spill gates of 16 major reservoirs and 10 medium-sized reservoirs have been opened.

The Irrigation Department stated that 12 in Rajanganaya, 6 in Lunugamvehera, 6 in Weheragala, and 5 in Sorabora have been opened.

4 in Deduru Oya, 3 in Alikota Ara, and 2 in Mauvara have also been opened.
