The Meteorological Department issued a statement stating that there is a possibility of thundershowers and strong lightning at several places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southe , and Northweste provinces and in the Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, and Mannar districts.

The Meteorological Department urges the public to take adequate measures to minimize damage caused by lightning, as temporary strong winds may occur in those areas during thundershowers.
