Several flights were canceled due to technical issues affecting three SriLankan Airlines planes at Katunayake Airport. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that the aircraft were undergoing technical maintenance after routine evaluations identified the need for repairs.
Among the canceled flights were UL-123, scheduled to depart for Chennai at 6:35 PM yesterday (17), and its retu flight, UL-124, set to arrive at 10:15 PM. Additionally, UL-196 from New Delhi (10:10 PM) and a flight from Melbou e (10:20 PM) were also canceled.
SriLankan Airlines has informed affected passengers and arranged alte ative flights for those needing to reach their destinations. The airline emphasized that safety remains its top priority.
