Tharushi Karunarathna Honored with Display at Olympic Museum



Sri Lankan middle-distance runner Tharushi Karunarathna’s Olympic track kit will be displayed at the Inte ational Olympic Committee Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The 19-year-old athlete has donated one of her competition kits used in the 2024 Paris Olympics for this exhibit.

The National Olympics Committee of Sri Lanka announced that Karunarathna's autographed kit was handed over to Ms. Anne Jaccard, Senior Manager of Exhibits and Programs at the IOC Museum, during a ceremony at the Games Village. In recognition of her contribution, Tharushi will receive a certificate signed by the IOC President.

Competing in the Women's 800m event, Tharushi Karunarathna's Olympic jou ey concluded after finishing 7th in Heat 4 of the Repechage round, clocking a time of 2:06.66. As the youngest athlete to represent Sri Lanka at the 2024 Paris Olympics, her achievements continue to inspire and make history for her country.
