The Minister of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment, Upali Pannilage, announced that the number of people receiving disability allowance will be increased to 310,000.

This was in response to a question raised by an opposition member of parliament in Parliament today (08).

The minister stated that although 410,000 people have been gazetted to receive disability allowance, the allowance is being provided to only about 138,000 people.
