The Department of Meteorology says that a low-level disturbance is developing east of Sri Lanka.
The department stated that, therefore, an increase in the prevailing rain conditions can be expected in the Northe , Easte , and Uva provinces.
The Department of Meteorology further stated that showers may occur at times in the Central, North-Central, and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.
Heavy rain exceeding 75 mm may occur at some places in the Easte and Uva provinces as well as in the Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Polonnaruwa districts.
It is also stated that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the rest of the island after about 2.00 pm.
