The Meteorological Department says that showers or thundershowers may occur at places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Southe , and Uva provinces and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (18) after 1.00 p.m.

The department stated that mainly dry weather conditions prevail in the rest of the island.

The statement further states that foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Central, and Uva provinces and in the Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts during the early hours of the mo ing.

The Department also urges the public to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
