The Department of Meteorology issued a statement stating that the low-level disturbance in the easte part of the island will continue.

The statement states that, therefore, an increase in rain conditions can be expected in the northe , north-central, and easte provinces of the island in the coming days.

The Department of Meteorology further stated that showers or thundershowers occurred in other parts of the island after 1.00 pm.

Certain locations in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, and North-Weste provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, have experienced showers or thundershowers. Moderately heavy rains exceeding 75 mm may occur.
