The Meteorological Department says that some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, and North-Weste provinces and in the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts today (21) may experience light showers of about 50 mm.

Issuing a statement, the department stated that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.

The statement further states that strong winds of about 50-60 kmph are possible in the weste parts of the central hills, the Northe , North-Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Weste , and Southe provinces, and the Trincomalee district.
