The timing for the delivery of the gove ment's policy statement at the start of the 10th Parliament session has been revised.

The Parliamentary Communications Department announced today (17) that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will now deliver the policy statement at 11:30 AM on November 21.

Previously, the policy statement was scheduled for 12:00 PM, with the President expected to address the session at 3:00 PM.

According to Article 33 (a) of the Constitution, the President has the authority to present the gove ment’s policy statement at the beginning of a Parliament session and to preside over its inaugural meetings under Article 33 (b). The policy statement offers a detailed outline of the gove ment’s outlook to Parliament and the public.

The first session of the 10th Parliament will begin at 10:00 AM on November 21.
