The Meteorological Department says that there will be several spells of showers in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, and Northweste provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts today (21).

Issuing a statement, the department stated that showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts after about 1.00 p.m.

The statement further states that moderate to strong winds of about 30–40 kmph are possible on the weste slopes of the central hills, the Northe , North-Central, Northweste , and Southe provinces, and the Trincomalee district.
