The Disaster Management Center says that rescue operations are currently underway at the site of the landslide in the Hingula Ganethenna area near Lower Kadugannawa, Kandy.

The center stated that rescue teams have now managed to rescue another woman who was trapped under the debris.

It is also reported that security forces and local residents are already working to rescue people trapped at the site.
