Foreign media reports that French farmers are planning to block the main roads leading into Paris.

It is said that they are preparing to block these roads by taking hundreds of tractors to the place.

As part of ongoing protests against falling incomes and import competition, they are said to be taking similar actions elsewhere in the country.

Farmers have stated that their aim is to stop providing food to supermarkets.

It is also mentioned that demonstrations were held in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Easte Europe.

French authorities say around 15,000 police have been deployed to prevent the tractors from entering Paris and other major cities.
