All executive officers of the public sector have reported sick leave today (29).

The Joint Committee of Gove ment Executive Officers says that this decision was taken to engage in trade union action.

It is stated that the professional action has been initiated based on several demands including prompt solutions for the unresolved professional problems of the officers of the executive service.

Commenting further, the chairman of the committee Mr. H. L. A. Udayasiri said that a conference will be held today with the participation of all executive officers of the public sector.
