The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that the rainy conditions in the south-weste part of the island are expected for the next few days.
It also states that it occurs from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Weste provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
Some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 75 mm.
Easte and Uva Provinces and Mullaitivu District will experience scattered showers or thundershowers in the evening or at night.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
In the weste slopes of the central mountains, and in the weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces, the wind blows from time to time per 40-45kmh.
As the sun moves south as seen, it will be directly above Sri Lanka's near latitudes from 28th August to 7th September.
Today (30) at 12:11 pm, the sun will be at the top of Thalaimannarama (Mannaram) and Iramyankulam (Vavunia District), Karappukutty (Trincomalee District), Palampasi (Mulathivu District).
