The program to identify people breaking traffic rules through the CCTV system installed in Colombo city will start from today (22).

Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Nihal Talduwa said that the ticket related to the detected vehicle offenses will be sent to the nearest police station of the registered owner of the vehicle.

This will be implemented as a pilot project till January 31.

Accordingly, it is said that awareness will be given regarding this system and people who commit traffic offenses will be wa ed.
