A group of scientists have named a new species of butterfly after the villain of the Lord of the Rings series, Sauron.
It is said that they are named this way because of the shape of the butterfly with a black ring with orange feather tips.
They said the shape was reminiscent of Sauron's 'all-seeing eye'.
Thus, two butterfly species have been included in the newly named genus Saurona.
Accordingly, they have been identified as Saurona triangular and Saurona aurigera, but scientists say that they hope to add several other species.
