The amber Advisory for strong winds has been Issued by the Natural Hazards Early Wa ing Centre of the Department of Meteorology, today.

Strong winds of about (50-60) kmph can be expected over the Weste slopes of the central hills and in the Northe , North-central, Weste , Southe , and northweste provinces and Trincomalee district.

Due to the South West Monsoon condition, the current showery and windy conditions will remain.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-weste , Southe and Northe provinces.

As mentioned in the weather report issued by the Department of Meteorology very heavy showers of about 150 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Weste and North-weste provinces and Kandy, Mannar, Galle, and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several other places on the island.
