The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has frozen two bank accounts belonging to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella for one week.
The accounts, including current and fixed deposits, hold a combined balance of approximately Rs. 20 million.
The freezing order, issued under Section 53(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023, took effect yesterday (17). The Commission plans to seek court approval to extend the order further.
Previously, the Commission has frozen several assets of the former minister and his relatives, including his wife, as part of ongoing investigations.
