The Cabinet has received approval to submit the Parliamentary Pensions Act (Repeal) Bill for approval in Parliament.

It is reported that in-principle approval has been given at the Cabinet meeting held on 16-06-2025 to repeal the Parliamentary Pensions Act No. 1 of 1971 of the National Council of State.
