The police say that 24 people have died due to water accidents during the past year.

Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wutler stated that due to this, a life-saving program has been implemented to protect the public, targeting areas where such accidents occur frequently.

The police media spokesperson expressed these views while participating in a media briefing convened in Colombo.
