The Supreme Court has today (12) decided to conclude the hearing of the Fundamental Rights Petitions filed challenging the appointment of former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon.
It is reported that the court has decided to conclude the hearing of the petitions based on the contents of an affidavit filed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in relation to these cases, with the consent of the petitioner side.
The petitions have been taken up before a three-member Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, Achala Wengappuli, and Mahinda Samayawardena.
