Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Foreign media reported that the former French president, who was convicted of receiving millions of euros in illegal funds from Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

The Paris Criminal Court has acquitted him of all other charges in the case, including passive corruption and illegal campaign financing.
