The Government Medical Officers Association has decided to suspend the island-wide trade union action planned to begin today (25).
Its secretary, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, stated that the Government Medical Officers Association held a special discussion with the minister in charge of the subject, Nalinda Jayatissa, and the secretary to the Ministry of Health last night.
The secretary further stated that it decided to suspend the strike based on the written agreement given by the minister to fulfill its demands.
The Government Medical Officers Association had decided to launch an island-wide trade union action today at 8 a.m. based on several demands, including problems in the transfer process for doctors.
