In an announcement, the Department of Meteorology says that in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, there will be occasional rain or thundershowers and heavy rains of about 75mm may occur in some places.

It also said that there will be several rainy seasons in the North-West and Central Provinces.
 
In Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts there will be scattered rain or thundershowers during the evening or night.

In the weste slopes of the central hills, the strong winds of around (40-45) are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
