On the Horana-Colombo route, private buses with the number 120 have decided to be withdrawn from service today (25).
The decision was made to protest against the arbitrarily and irregularly implemented new bus service from Millawa to Colombo via Horana by the chairman of the Road Passenger Transport Authority.
Chairman of the Horana-Colombo Private Bus Owners Association Janaka Gunasiri stated that if a solution is not found for this, other routes will also be included in the protest in the future.
SLTB buses have been deployed for the passengers who are inconvenienced due to the strike.
The people on strike are requesting the authorities to provide a proper solution to the problem of the timekeepers on the Horana-Colombo route not performing their duties properly and being tempted to unfairly and illegally collect money.
