National Environmental Week declared



The National Environment Week has been officially declared from 30 May (yesterday) to 5 June.

The Geological and Mine Survey and the Bureau of Mines have organized the focal program in the Anuradhapura district.

Additionally, farmers and planters will receive guidance on the long-term utilization of agricultural land.

The Department of Gove ment Information posted on Facebook that this year's National Environment Week's Celebrations themed 'Effective Land Use for a Healthy Environment,' will be held under the courtesy of President Ranil Wickramasinghe on 5th June at the Sinharaja entrance in Kalawana.

World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June every year.

This year's theme of World Environment Day is 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'. The slogan is  “Our Land, Our Future.” We are Generation Restoration.
