The National Dengue Control Unit says that with the rapid increase in the number of dengue cases, the number of dengue deaths is also increasing.

Its director, specialist Dr. Naleen Ariyaratne said that it would be difficult to control if the number of patients increases at once.

7,017 patients have been reported from Colombo district, 7,602 patients from Gampaha district and 1,984 patients from Kalutara district.
 
Meanwhile, 22 people have died due to dengue and 7 deaths are reported from the Weste Province.
