The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has uncovered a financial fraud scheme exploiting photographs of its senior officials to falsely promise overseas jobs, particularly in Israel.

In a statement, the SLBFE revealed that fraudsters are using WhatsApp links featuring images of officials taken from the bureau's official Facebook page to mislead the public. Several complaints have already been filed regarding this deceptive practice.

The bureau has urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to these scams. It has also requested individuals with information about such fraudulent activities to contact their hotline at 1989 or reach out via WhatsApp at 071 759 35 93.
