Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been sentenced to death by an inte ational criminal tribunal in the country.

She was convicted of crimes against humanity in the country's brutal crackdown on student protests last year.

She was sentenced for systematic crimes such as failing to take preventive and punishing measures and ordering the use of drones, helicopters, and lethal weapons to attack civilians.
