Dr. Duminda Yasaratne, a specialist in respiratory diseases at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, says that smoking among school children has increased.

He said that many school children have started trying cigarettes by the age of 14 or 15.

Speaking at a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau, Dr. Duminda Yasaratne, a specialist in respiratory diseases, stated that smoking greatly contributes to the development of lung-related diseases.
