US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional 100% tariff on goods imported from China.
Foreign media reported that these new tariffs and controls are scheduled to be implemented from November 1, 2025.
The US president has also decided to impose export controls on 'critical software.'
Foreign media reported that Trump made this decision a few hours after China imposed new controls on the export of rare earth minerals.
China supplies about 70% of the global supply of these minerals and is essential for high-tech industries such as automobiles, defense, and semiconductors.
China's Ministry of Commerce announced that from December 1, foreign companies must obtain a license to export products containing more than 0.1% of rare earth minerals from that country.
