The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

It also said that scattered rain or thundershowers will occur in Uva, Central, North Central and Easte provinces, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.

Heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
