Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake stated that new number plates with more advanced security features are expected to be issued by November 15th.

This was stated in Parliament today (26).

The minister also stated that all tender calls for this have been completed.

He further stated that these new number plates, which are more technologically advanced than the previous vehicle number plates, are expected to be issued in November.
