Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake stated that steps will be taken to introduce a set of conditions for the import of public transport buses from January next year.

This was while participating in a media briefing held yesterday (14).

At that time, he further stated that steps will be taken to grant permission to import only buses that are safe and meet mode standards.

Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake also stated that steps will be taken to investigate in the future whether the vehicles used for public transport are operating under the prescribed standards.
