The Department of Meteorology says that in the next few days from today (27), the development of rainy weather conditions is expected in many parts of the island.

The department announced that rain or thundershowers may occur at times in easte , northe and north-central provinces.

After 2.00 pm in the rest of the island there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms.

In Easte , Uva, Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts expected some heavy rain around 75 mm.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
