With the heavy rains across the island, the number of dengue patients reported has reached close to 50,000.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that the number of dengue patients reported as of yesterday (23) is 48,287.

As of yesterday (23) this month, we have reported 14,446 dengue patients.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that most of them are reported from the Weste Province, with 10,085 patients reported in the Colombo District alone.

Also, 29 dengue deaths have occurred so far.
