An accident has occurred when the rider lost control of a motorcycle and veered off the road and fell into a ditch.

It happened on the Alakoladeniya by-pass in Heraliyawala, Kurunegala.

The motorcyclist was injured in the accident and was admitted to the Kurunegala Hospital, where he was reported to have died.

The deceased is a 43-year-old resident of the Kurunegala area.
